Hear From Our Clients
A reputation built on 350+ client experiences across our premier locations.
You stop planning your week around grooming. That’s the real shift here.
No more last-minute shaving before plans. No more avoiding certain outfits because you didn’t have time to groom. No more scheduling around wax appointments or dealing with the regrowth, irritation, and ingrown hairs that follow.
Laser hair removal gives you smooth skin that actually lasts. After completing your sessions, you’ll see an 80-95% reduction in hair growth in treated areas. The hair that does return comes in finer, lighter, and barely noticeable. For most people, that means daily maintenance is done.
You get your time back. Your confidence back. And you stop spending hundreds or thousands on razors and waxing appointments that never end the cycle.
Dolce Aesthetics NY is a med spa serving South Slope and the surrounding Brooklyn area with professional hair removal services and cosmetology treatments that deliver real results. We focus on laser hair removal and aesthetic solutions that make a noticeable difference.
Our team uses FDA-cleared technology and takes time to understand your skin type, hair type, and goals before starting treatment. We’re not here to oversell you or rush you through a generic process. We’re here to give you a clear plan, honest expectations, and results you can see.
South Slope residents come to us because we’re local, straightforward, and focused on doing the work right. You’re not a number—you’re someone who deserves smooth skin without the runaround.
First, you come in for a consultation. We assess your skin tone, hair color, and areas you want treated. We discuss how many sessions you’ll need—typically six to eight, spaced four to eight weeks apart depending on the area. This isn’t one-and-done, and we won’t pretend otherwise.
During each session, the laser targets pigment in your hair follicles. The light energy heats the follicle enough to slow or stop future growth. The laser works best on hair in active growth phase, which is why multiple sessions matter—your hair grows in cycles, and we need to catch it at the right time.
Sessions are quick. Underarms take about 10 minutes. Legs take 30 to 45 minutes. Most people describe the sensation as a rubber band snap—not painless, but manageable. We use cooling technology to keep you comfortable.
After your session, you might see redness or slight swelling that fades within hours. You can return to your day immediately. Over the next weeks, treated hair falls out, and you’ll notice less regrowth with each session. By the end of your plan, you’re looking at smooth, hair-free skin that lasts.
Ready to get started?
You get a personalized plan based on your needs. We treat all common areas—face, underarms, bikini line, legs, back, chest, arms. If you’ve got unwanted hair somewhere, we can target it.
You also get straight answers. We’ll tell you upfront if your hair color or skin tone is a good match. We’ll explain how many sessions you’ll realistically need and what results to expect. No inflated promises or surprise fees.
For South Slope clients, convenience matters. You don’t want to travel across the city for a 15-minute appointment. Having a local med spa option means you can fit treatments into your schedule without losing your afternoon to commuting.
Brooklyn residents also care about value. Laser hair removal isn’t the cheapest option upfront, but when you calculate what you spend on razors, shaving products, and waxing over five or ten years, the math changes. You’re investing in a solution that ends the cycle instead of pausing it temporarily.
It’s not painless, but it’s not unbearable. Most people compare it to a rubber band snapping against skin—quick, sharp, but over in a second. The sensation varies by area. Sensitive spots like bikini line or upper lip tend to be more uncomfortable than legs or back.
We use cooling technology during treatment to minimize discomfort and keep your skin calm. The laser works fast, so even when treating larger areas, the actual time you’re feeling anything is short.
If you’ve waxed before, you’ll probably find this easier to tolerate. There’s no pulling or tearing, and discomfort doesn’t linger after. Most clients get used to the sensation by their second or third visit and stop worrying about it.
Most people need six to eight sessions for full results, but it depends on your hair type, skin tone, and treatment area. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only works on actively growing hair. That’s why you need multiple sessions spaced weeks apart—to catch all hair as it cycles through growth phases.
You’ll notice less hair after your first couple of sessions. Hair that does grow back will be finer and lighter. By the time you finish your plan, you’re looking at 80-95% reduction in the treated areas.
Some areas respond faster. Underarms and bikini line tend to show results more quickly, while legs or back may take the full series for maximum reduction. We’ll give you a clearer timeline during consultation based on your situation.
Modern laser technology can safely treat a wide range of skin tones. That said, laser hair removal works by targeting pigment in your hair, so it’s most effective on darker hair and lighter skin. If you have very light blonde, red, or gray hair, the laser may not pick up enough pigment to damage the follicle.
Darker skin tones can absolutely be treated, but it requires the right laser type and proper settings to avoid damaging surrounding skin. That’s why consultation matters—we assess your skin and hair type before moving forward to ensure treatment is a good fit.
If laser hair removal isn’t ideal for your coloring, we’ll tell you upfront. We’re not going to take your money for treatment that won’t deliver expected results. Transparency is part of doing this right.
Before your session, shave the area being treated. The laser targets the follicle beneath skin, not surface hair, so shaving helps treatment work better. Don’t wax or pluck for at least four weeks before your appointment—those methods remove the hair root, and the laser needs it there.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks before treatment. Tanned or sunburned skin increases risk of irritation. If you’ve been in the sun, let us know so we can reschedule if needed.
After your session, your skin might be red or slightly swollen, like a mild sunburn. That’s normal and usually fades within hours. Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 hours. Use sunscreen on treated areas if going outside—your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays for a few days. You can shave between sessions if needed, but don’t wax or pluck.
Pricing depends on the area size and how many sessions you need. Smaller areas like upper lip or underarms cost less per session than full legs or back. We offer package pricing for full treatment series, which lowers per-session cost.
As a rough ballpark, expect $100 to $500 per session depending on area. A full plan for underarms might run $600 to $1,200 total, while full legs could be $2,000 to $3,000 for the complete series.
That might sound like a lot upfront, but compare it to what you’re already spending. If you wax your legs every six weeks at $60 each, that’s $520 yearly—or $5,200 over ten years. Laser hair removal ends that cycle. You pay once for a lasting solution instead of paying forever for temporary fixes. We’ll give you exact pricing during consultation based on your specific plan.
You can get treatment any time of year, but there are considerations if treating during summer. The main issue is sun exposure—you need to avoid tanning and protect treated areas from UV rays before and after each session. If you’re outside a lot or love the beach, winter or fall might be easier to manage.
That said, plenty of people do laser hair removal in spring and summer without problems. You just need to be diligent about sunscreen and avoid direct sun on treated areas for a couple weeks before and after appointments.
Starting in fall or winter means you’ll be done by summer, which is when most people want smooth, hair-free skin. But if you’re ready now, don’t wait. The sooner you begin, the sooner you’ll see results. Just plan around sun exposure and follow aftercare instructions we give you.
