Med Spa Treatments in Old Howard Beach

What Happens When You Finally Address It

You stop avoiding the mirror. You stop filtering every photo before posting it. You show up to meetings, dinners, and family gatherings without that nagging thought in the back of your mind.

That’s what happens when Botox actually works the way it should—smoothing lines without freezing your face. When laser hair removal means you’re done shaving that area for good. When a facial doesn’t just feel nice for an hour but actually improves your skin over time.

The right med spa treatment doesn’t announce itself. It just makes you look like you’ve been sleeping better, stressing less, taking care of yourself. And honestly, that’s the goal.

Howard Beach Medical Spa Services

Who's Actually Doing Your Treatment Matters

We’ve been serving Old Howard Beach and surrounding Queens communities for years. Our practice is led by Jennifer DiLandro, a nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of experience performing injectable treatments, and overseen by Dr. Sophia Lubin, a board-certified OB/GYN who serves as Medical Director.

That’s not just credentials on a wall. It means the person holding the syringe has done this thousands of times. It means there’s actual medical oversight, not just someone who took a weekend course.

Our Howard Beach location sits right on Cross Bay Boulevard, second floor, with parking that doesn’t make you late for your appointment. You’re not driving into Manhattan. You’re not sitting in traffic for an hour. You’re getting the same level of expertise without the hassle.

Medical Spa Treatment Process

Here's What Actually Happens

It starts with a free consultation. Not a sales pitch. An actual conversation about what’s bothering you, what you’ve tried, and what makes sense for your face, your skin, your goals.

If you’re coming in for Botox or fillers, we’ll talk through exactly where the injections go and why. You’ll see photos. You’ll ask questions. Then the treatment itself takes maybe 15 minutes. There’s no dramatic downtime—you might have a tiny bit of redness that fades within an hour.

Laser hair removal works differently. Our Howard Beach location uses the Cynosure Apogee Elite, which has two different laser wavelengths to treat all skin tones safely. The built-in cooling system makes it more comfortable than older machines. You’ll need multiple sessions spaced a few weeks apart because hair grows in cycles, but each session gets you closer to being done with razors and ingrown hairs.

Facials and skin rejuvenation treatments are customized based on what your skin actually needs—not what’s trending on Instagram. You’ll leave with a clear plan for maintaining results at home, not just a vague suggestion to “moisturize more.”

About Dolce Aesthetics

Old Howard Beach Aesthetic Treatments

What You're Actually Getting

We offer Botox, dermal fillers like Juvederm and Radiesse, laser hair removal, chemical peels, microneedling, and customized facials. Each treatment is FDA-approved and performed by licensed medical professionals.

Old Howard Beach residents deal with the same things everyone else does—sun damage from beach days, humidity that wreaks havoc on hair removal routines, the stress of city living showing up on your face. The difference is having a medical spa that understands those specific concerns and adjusts treatments accordingly.

Laser hair removal is particularly popular here because the Cynosure Apogee Elite can safely treat darker skin tones that older lasers couldn’t handle well. That matters in a diverse community like Queens. The dual-wavelength technology means better results across all skin types, and the cooling system keeps discomfort minimal.

Injectable treatments are tailored to your facial structure, not some cookie-cutter approach. The goal is always to enhance what you already have—soften the lines, restore volume where it’s been lost, create balance. Not to make you look like someone else.

How long does Botox actually last, and how often will I need to come back?

Botox typically lasts three to four months for most people. You’ll start noticing movement coming back gradually, not all at once.

How often you come back depends on your goals. Some people book their next appointment as soon as they see lines reappearing. Others wait a bit longer and are fine with a little more movement between treatments. If you’re using Botox preventatively—meaning you’re starting before deep wrinkles set in—you might be able to stretch it longer because your muscles haven’t developed strong creasing patterns yet.

The first time you get Botox, you might metabolize it a bit faster as your body adjusts. By your second or third treatment, you’ll have a better sense of your personal timeline. Most people settle into a routine of coming in every three to four months, which works out to about three or four times a year.

Laser hair removal is technically “permanent hair reduction,” not complete elimination forever. Here’s what that actually means in practice.

The laser targets hair follicles in their active growth phase and damages them enough that they either stop producing hair or produce much finer, lighter hair that’s barely noticeable. Most people see an 80-90% reduction after a full series of treatments. The hair that does grow back is typically sparse and thin—nothing like what you were dealing with before.

You’ll need multiple sessions because only a portion of your hair is actively growing at any given time. For most areas, that means six to eight treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. After that, you might need an occasional touch-up session once a year or every couple of years, but you’re essentially done with regular shaving or waxing.

The Cynosure Apogee Elite we use at our Howard Beach location has two different wavelengths, which means it can effectively treat both light and dark skin tones. Older lasers couldn’t do that safely, which is why laser hair removal has become much more accessible in recent years.

Botox and fillers solve different problems, and a lot of people end up using both for different areas.

Botox relaxes the muscles that create dynamic wrinkles—the lines that show up when you make expressions. Think forehead lines, crow’s feet around your eyes, the “11” lines between your brows. It works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that tell those muscles to contract. You can still make expressions; you just can’t make the extreme ones that deepen those creases.

Fillers, on the other hand, add volume. They’re used for lines that are there even when your face is completely relaxed, like the folds that run from your nose to the corners of your mouth. Fillers are also used to restore volume in areas that have hollowed with age—under the eyes, in the cheeks, in the lips. Different fillers have different consistencies and are designed for specific areas.

During your consultation, we’ll talk through what’s bothering you most. If it’s lines that appear when you raise your eyebrows or squint, that’s Botox. If it’s hollowness or static lines, that’s filler. Often it’s a combination, and the treatment plan is built around what will give you the most natural-looking improvement.

Pricing varies based on what you’re treating and how much product or time is needed, but here’s a realistic framework.

Botox is typically priced per unit, and the number of units you need depends on the area being treated and the strength of your muscles. Forehead lines might need 10-20 units, crow’s feet another 12-24 units, frown lines between the brows 20-30 units. You’re usually looking at a few hundred dollars per area.

Fillers are priced per syringe, and one syringe might be enough for subtle lip enhancement or under-eye hollows, while deeper volume loss might require two or more syringes. Each syringe typically runs several hundred dollars, depending on the type of filler.

Laser hair removal is usually sold in packages because you need multiple sessions. Smaller areas like the upper lip or underarms cost less than larger areas like legs or back. Most practices offer package deals that bring the per-session cost down.

The best approach is to book a free consultation and get a clear, upfront quote based on your specific needs. We’ll give you exact pricing before you commit to anything. If someone’s being vague about costs or pressuring you to decide on the spot, that’s a red flag.

If it’s done right, no. That’s the whole point.

Good Botox doesn’t freeze your face. It softens the lines without eliminating your ability to make expressions. You should still be able to raise your eyebrows, smile, show surprise. You just won’t have the deep creases that come with those movements.

Good filler doesn’t puff you up or change your face shape. It restores what’s been lost or subtly enhances what’s already there. Your face should look like your face—just more rested, more balanced, more like you did a few years ago.

The “obviously done” look happens when someone uses too much product, places it in the wrong areas, or chases trends instead of working with your natural features. That’s why experience matters. Someone who’s performed thousands of treatments understands facial anatomy, knows how different faces age, and can predict how products will settle and move over time.

Our approach is conservative and customized. You can always add more in a follow-up appointment if you want a bit more correction. You can’t easily undo an overdone treatment.

There are a few non-negotiables when it comes to choosing a medical spa, and you should feel completely comfortable asking about all of them.

First, who’s performing your treatment? Injectables should be administered by a licensed medical professional—a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant with specific training in aesthetic procedures. Laser treatments should also be performed by trained, licensed staff. If the person doing your treatment isn’t willing to discuss their credentials, walk out.

Second, is there a medical director overseeing the practice? In New York, medical spas must operate under the supervision of a licensed physician. That physician should be actively involved, not just a name on paperwork. Dr. Sophia Lubin serves as our Medical Director and oversees all treatments.

Third, are they using FDA-approved products and equipment? Real Botox comes in specific packaging and should be prepared in front of you. Fillers should be from recognized brands like Juvederm, Restylane, or Radiesse. Lasers should be medical-grade equipment from established manufacturers.

Finally, trust your gut. If a place feels more like a high-pressure sales environment than a medical practice, if pricing seems too good to be true, if they’re pushing you toward treatments you didn’t ask about—those are all signs to look elsewhere. A good medical spa prioritizes your safety and your goals, not just making a sale.
